See

Attraction is a magnet

A magnet made of glass

As each side pulls stronger

The fear is they will crash

And pieces will be shattered

And feelings will be hurt

The cry is they are better left

Lying there inert

But imagine if you will

An Everest never topped

A journey never thrilled

A cowardice not stopped

A word that’s never said

For fear of the unknown

Two simple puzzle pieces

Separate and alone

When the day is over

And the sun has set

Better safe than sorry

Is infinite regret

So if there’s put before you

An opportunity

Put fantasy behind you

Take it

Make it

See

To Be

To be a leader, to try

To shoulder the weight, to strive

To speak into the shadowed wood

To place a foot where no one’s stood

To lose the doubt that grips one’s soul

And carry another to the sunlit knoll

Is to be

Alive

Coffee

Coffee comes in many forms

Sometimes cold but mostly warm

Many different blends exist

Ingredients make quite the list

But over time as I’ve sipped

Roasts so smooth and some that nipped

From the steam that’s left the brew

A taste of something that is true

Regardless of the joe I gather

The truth I’ve learned is that I’d rather

A dismal cup with someone else

Than drink perfection by myself

A Phantom

I thought I saw a phantom

Hailing from the mist,

Was hoping for a mountain

A stone and pale tryst

A place to go for safety

A far and mystic rest,

A place to start my heartstrings,

A rhythm in my chest

Memories

The size of the thing is often lost

As time moves swiftly on,

What has happened one does forget

The detail is soon gone,

Revisit the places where before

The memories did exist,

Pull forth the time that is no more

Revel in what is missed

Nothing

Nothing goes

And nothing stays

An empty view

A perfect haze

The river flows

Back on itself

Nothing sits

Upon the shelf
